In the Once Upon A Time™ workbook series, children's favorite fairy tales set the stage for promoting higher-level reading and thinking skills in emerging readers. Each illustrated tale is divided into chapters that include a writing exercise and a picture to be drawn following special instructions. Students will personalize the story with their writings and drawings and are encouraged to share their story with others.

Audio tapes are available. On side one of the audio tapes, the stories are delightfully narrated. An original musical score, with special sound effects brings the stories to life. The child is magically transported to the land of fairy tales with giants, castles, elves, and the big bad wolf. On side two of the audio tapes, the stories are read slowly with spaces in the narration and special sounds to alert the child to choose the correct word missing from the sentence. These tapes provide an excellent group story-time activity or can be used for individual listening.
